Pop music is making a resurgence on the UK music charts, and now two more 90s pop groups have announced comeback plans.

Swedish dance-pop quartet Ace of Base have also reformed and been busy in the studio, with a new album due out in Europe next spring (that's 'Northern Hemisphere spring') . They've also announced dates for an upcoming reunion tour... visiting Denmark, Russia, and Lithuania, with more stops likely.

Ace of Base had huge international success in the 90s, with singles like The Sign, Don't Turn Around, All That She Wants, and Beautiful Life. Their debut album Happy Nation/The Sign sold over 23 million copies worldwide.

Unfortunately though, Ace of Base have this week denied media speculation they've been asked to take part in the next Melodifestivalen, the competition which selects Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Meanwhile, colourful Danish pop group Aqua are most famous for their worldwide smash single Barbie Girl, but also had international success with the songs Dr Jones, Turn Back Time, Cartoon Heroes, and Around the World.

The bubblegum-pop quartet from Denmark have also been back in the recording studio, laying down a few new songs which will apparently be added to a fresh Greatest Hits package due out next year, with a European tour also on the 2008 calendar.

British "boy" band Take That are back, with a new single Rule the World, written and recorded as the theme song for the epic adventure movie Stardust (starring Robert De Niro, Sienna Miller, Ricky Gervais, Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sir Ian McKellen and Rupert Everett).

Rule the World
also appears on a new "Tour Souvenir Edition" of the lads' comeback album Beautiful World. The repackaged album includes 3 new songs, plus a bonus DVD with 4 music videos (Patience, Shine, I'd Wait For Life, Rule the World), and interviews with the group behind the scenes of their tour.

Rule the World plays over the closing credits of the film Stardust, and features Gary Barlow on lead vocals. It has apparently already been nominated for an Oscar.

It seems the boys will be pipped at the post in this week's UK Singles Chart though, with X Factor winner Leona Lewis expected to take the #1 spot with her ballad "Bleeding Love".

The song and video for Take That - Rule the World features the Millennia Ensemble, an 18 piece string ensemble. The video was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and also includes clips from the movie Stardust...

Alison Clarkson - better known to most of the music world as "Betty Boo" is back, and preparing to bring back the alter-ego which made her a hit on the UK's music charts in the late 80s.

Ms Boo says "Cool Pop is back" and it's time to "Relaunch the Brand". She's following a similar route that gave her a first taste of chart success. Betty Boo originally teamed up with the Beatmasters for her debut hit, "Hey DJ - I Can't Dance (To That Music You're Playing)".

This time around, she's teamed up with Jack Rokka (actually UK producers Digital Dog), for an electro club track called "Take Off"...

Betty Boo's already been in the recording studio laying down tracks for her forthcoming album...
In the meantime, here's her classic hit "Doin' the Do"...

Satellite TV is almost a necessity in most US households (especially those with any kids in the house!), but the installation costs and monthly fees do add up. That's why it's important to find the best deal when signing up.

Satellite Solutions Network claims to be one of the biggest partners of the Dish Network, and they promise to give you the best deal available. (And the company reckons if you do manage to find a better deal, they'll beat it).
They're currently advertising what sounds like a pretty good package deal for Dish Network Satellite tv... over 130 channels for $29.99 a month, including free HD TV programming for the first 6 months. (There's also more basic packages offering 40 popular channels from just $19.99 a month).

Most subscribers tend to go for the big multi-channel packages like America's Top 100 (or America's Top 200 if you're a real tv addict!) That includes all the popular pay channels like ESPN, Comedy Central, MTV, SciFi, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Disney, Nickelodeon, and many more.

And if you sign up for Dish TV through SSN, you'll qualify for an instant $75 cash back, plus the choice of a great free gift (iPod, DVD Player, Home Theatre System, or a Visa gift card. Their deal also includes free installation (up to 4 rooms), and free HBO and Cinemax for 3 months.

And if you're looking to upgrade your entertainment system, Satellite Solutions can hook you up with good deals on new-generation Digital Video Recording (DVR) equipment, and dual tuner HD receiver upgrades (to let you watch more crystal clear HD TV programmes). You can order online, or by phone if you want to speak to a "real live person" ;-)
